IAER Students Chapter organised Seminar on Water Conservation and Rain Water Harvesting

The Institute of Advance Energy and Research and The Institution of Engineers organised a seminar on ‘Water Conservation and Rain Water Harvesting’. The seminar was held to raise awareness among the young youth about the water issues, problems, facts and the solutions to remark the occasion of “World Water Day” .

The seminar was inaugurated with theme video on Water Conservation and its need. An expert talk on ‘Introduction to elements of Hydrology and Ground Water Estimation’ was given by Er Bimal Jeet Bhandari, Agronomist, Executive Engineer, Water Resources and Environment Directorate, Punjab. Er Mahesh C. Jindal , Ex. Regional Director, CGWB/CGWA, Gol shared his experience on ‘Rain Water Harvesting and Recharge’ by.Students were also told about Green Technology for Industrial Water Remediation by Dr. Jyotsana Kaushal, Dy Dean, School of Applied Sciences, Chitkara University, Punjab. Dr Charu Khosla, Associate Professor, School of Applied Sciences, Chitkara University , Punjab gave an expert talk about the water footprints. A quiz related to water was conducted intermediate the seminar and prizes were given to the winners.

Ms Anu Singla, Associate Professor, Institute of Advanced Energy Research emphasized the need of water and energy conservation and proposed vote of thanks to speakers. She applauded the student organisers for smooth conduct of seminar.
