Hostellers enjoy ‘gully cricket’, carromboard game table
From streets to stadiums, from one household to another, cricket is one of the mostly played game in our country and girls are now making their mark in the most played game of India. Girls played gully cricket, which was organized for them with much ado.
For the common Indian man, cricket is not just a sport. It’s a religion. An Indian kid learns to hold a bat before he can speak his first word. Whether or not you like the sport, if you were born in India, you would’ve definitely played Gully Cricket with your childhood friends. We neither had pitches nor did we have stadiums, but that did not stop us. We made our own little places where we have played this game and girls are now giving a tough competition to boys.
“Gully Cricket ‘ was organized for the girl hostellers and Navneet was declared Woman of the Series. The event was organised with the combined efforts of USB and Hostel Committee.
In another event, the Hostel Committee organised Caromboard game table game of strike and pocket. Simran from girls won the match and from boys, Abhishek Negi took the lead.
