Health Sciences students & faculty presented research papers at an International conference in Paris
Chitkara School of Health Sciences students & faculty attended a 10 day International exchange programme organised in collaboration with International Centre of Optometry, Paris, France. The optometry students were exposed to various aspects of optometry as practiced in France.
Research in France is more towards optics and eye wear, that is how the best progressive lens designs, coating etc. have originated from France. Faculty member Mr. Keerti Pradhan gave a talk on the topic “Career and Opportunities in Optometry” at the International Centre for Optometry. Students had an opportunity to attend a workshop on optical dispensing by a renowned French expert at the ICO.
The biggest highlight of the trip was being able to participate in the worlds largest tradefair in optics and eyewear alongside the SILMO Academy at Paris. Chitkara optometry students presented a poster titled “Management of Divergence Insufficiency with Optometric Vision Therapy”. The SILMO tradefair is considered the launchpad for the latest designs in optics and eyewear.
Students and faculty visited BBGR factory of lens manufacturing. They also had the opportunity to do an eye camp.
The trip provided an eye opening exposure to the endless possibilities in eyecare.
