Grand ‘Foundation Day’ celebrations of IEEE CIET Student Branch held at campus

IEEE CIET Student Branch, Chitkara University, Punjab; celebrated the 10-year Anniversary of their Foundation Day, at the Punjab campus on October 3-4, 2019, in collaboration with Coding Blocks and BnB.

With the theme ‘Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow’, Chitkara University aspires to thrust its efforts in a manner that it strengthens the future. Dr. Archana Mantri, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University; Dr. Rajnish Sharma, Dean (Research); and Dr. Meenu Khurana, Dean, Dept of Computer Science & Engineering & Branch Counsellor of IEEE CIET Student Branch; were the guests of honour for the celebrations.

Day-1, of Foundation Day celebration started with various activities including, ‘Craft with IEEE’ which motivated students to get creative and manage with limited resources; followed by activity ‘Sketch your ideas’ which helped students express their creative thoughts through a sketch. The day’s celebrations culminated with the students creating a ‘human chain image’ of IEEE to represent the strong bond of the student branch members and the impact they create by reaching out to humanity.

Day-2, of Foundation Day celebration saw the final showcase round of prototyping competition – HackUp Hackathon. Team ‘2 Legit 2 Quit’ (CSE, 3rd Year) was declared the winner. The celebrations concluded with students enjoying fun activities – Mystery Island Treasure Hunt and Reflaxo Recreation Activities.
