Former Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army, General Bikram Singh, delivering an inspirational talk on ‘Leadership, Ethics & Values’ to the students and staff members of Chitkara University.

The General delivered an intriguing talk talking about the Indian Army and also motivated the students to be a part of a fine Army. He shared his rich and vast experience of more than four decades in the Indian Army through an enthralling session that was extremely exciting, enriching and educating for all.

Commissioned on March 31, 1972, into the Sikh Light Infantry (SIKHLI) Regiment, General Bikram Singh is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy. He also attended the US Army War College at Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

General Bikram, who was involved in the Kargil conflict in 1999, stated that a person needs to possess certain OLQs or ‘Officer Like Qualities’ to do well in life and lead from the front. His talk inspired the students, who are studying various subjects at the University. Not only the students but the staff also attended the talk and learnt a great deal about leadership and various values.

We thank the General for making time to talk to the Chitkara fraternity. It was an honour to have him on the campus.
