Foreign Students Attend Culture Workshop on India
Chitkara University strongly believes that the holistic development of the child only happens when he is made familiar with the rich culture and traditions of his country. If one is not familiar with the essence of his own nation, he is like a tree, which has no roots. Students today usually have knowledge about their core subject, but they somehow lose touch with this other very essential sphere. But at Chitkara University, our honourable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, particularly emphasizes on this fact that students need to be in touch with the roots of their culture and traditions in order to become responsible and aware citizens of tomorrow.
With this in mind, we organized a culture workshop on India for the International students from Bhutan by the Chitkara School of Languages (CSL), with the aim of acquainting them with the colourful customs, traditions and cultures of our nation.
These International students, who would be with Chitkara University for next three years, enjoyed their first day of the course with Mr. Navgeet Kohli, Assistant Professor, CSL, by sharing their experience in the university so far and playing several vocabulary games. The course would also help them to learn certain Hindi expressions, which they could use whenever needed.
