It was a great opportunity for the students and faculty of Chitkara University as they got a chance to interact with Padma Shri Awardee, Celebrity Chef and the winner of several Culinary Awards, Sanjeev Kapoor, through a much needed Facebook Live Session. He motivated everyone by sharing about the various foods that can be consumed during this period of lockdown to boost one’s immunity.

Chef Extraordinaire, Sanjeev Kapoor also shared about his inspirational journey into the world of Culinary Art and how it was a sheer struggle for him as the field of Culinary Art at that time was not considered to be a serious career path. For more than 18 years, he is also hosting the fabulous Cookery Show, Khana Khazana and he is also the author of 150+ Best Selling Cookbooks and is an extremely successful Restaurateur.

It is really commendable that during this lockdown period, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has come forward and contributed his bit to the society. As a responsible citizen, he has collaborated with Indian Hotels Company to create healthy meal packets that are being provided to the doctors, nurses, health care workers for various hospitals across Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. During the Live Session, keeping in mind the current scenario, one of the students asked quite a relevant question pertaining to the situation going on these days. His question was related to the virus outbreak and how this has affected his work. To this, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor replied, “The virus is just another hurdle in our lives. Undoubtedly, it has brought along certain changes that could never be thought of, but it has not affected our spirits in any way. It is like a ‘detox programme’ designed by nature, and I’m sure that each one of us will come out of it stronger.”

He also spoke on the ‘Foods to boost immunity’ and he said, “There is so much going on in the world right now due to the deadly virus and what we can do to prevent this is to have the right kind of diet. He mentioned that we have all the right kinds of food in our Indian kitchen that helps in building our immunity.”

It was indeed a very informative talk and Chitkara University is really grateful to Chef Sanjeev Kapoor to interact with us through the Facebook Live Session and provide some very informative inputs and also showing everyone a positive side to the situation going on.
