Expert session organised on “A Catalyst for Creativity” under the ‘Har Ghar Dhyan Campaign’ by the UGC
Chitkara University organized an expert session on “A Catalyst for Creativity” under the ‘Har Ghar Dhyan Campaign’ by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Culture, under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
More than 800 students from across the departments, attended this uplifting program organized in conjunction with ‘Art of Living’ in the first batch.
Under the guidance and presence of Varun Upadhayay, Regional Director, Art of Living, different meditation techniques were taught in a total of 4 sessions. Students were educated on ways to control their attention and unlock their true potential. They were made aware of the true benefits of meditation and saying NO to drugs. Furthermore, the students were sensitized on how people successfully completing meditation exercises experienced fewer negative thoughts in life. Some effects, such as increased compassion and social bonding, are more salient as a result of practicing meditation daily.
Speaking to the students, a ‘vibe check’ was done for how meditation is the ‘new cool’ rather than drugs. Due emphasis was laid on the importance of mental health in current times.
