Dr S.N Panda, Director Research attended a seminar ‘Advanced Research Technologies and Cyber Communication’

The field of research is never ending and adds every day something new to the various dimensions of human lives. To boost up the spirit of research among the faculty members and students, PG Department of Computer Science and IT, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized a seminar on ‘Advanced Research Technologies and Cyber Communication’.

Dr. S.N. Panda, Director Research, Chitkara University were the resource person for the seminar. He was extended floral welcome by Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Dr. Manohar Singh, Head, PG Department of CS & IT and other senior faculty members. Addressing the students, he emphasized on the use of ‘Gartner Chart’ before choosing any topic for the research at any level and to give full efforts towards finding the adequate solutions of the research problem selected for the study. He, further presented the outputs of various government-sponsored research projects undertaken by him in various fields such as medical, health and agriculture etc. In addition to this, Dr. Panda threw light on the various terms associated with the research like intellectual property rights, patents, copyright etc. The seminar was followed by a question-answer session, where teachers and students asked about their queries related to research. Prof. Panda also distributed the booklets related to ‘Use of Cyber Technology for Women Security’, a project sponsored by NCSTC and DST New Delhi in association with ChitkaraUniversity among the students and faculty members. The stage was conducted by Dr. Baldev Singh in a decent manner.

Principal Dr. G.S. Samra also emphasized the importance of research in the contemporary educational scenario and gave information regarding various research projects being undertaken by the college. Dr. Manohar Singh thanked the resource person for the valuable views shared by him with the students and encouraged students to develop an innovative and visionary attitude in the field of research. Prof. Sanjeev Anand, Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Prof. Manpreet Singh, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Mandeep Bhatia and Prof. Gagandeep Singh also witnessed the seminar.
