Dr. Rakesh Sindhu Assistant Professor CCP selected for Bharat Shiksha Ratna Award

Dr. Rakesh Sindhu, Assistant Professor, Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab, was chosen, among 120 other recipients, for Bharat Shiksha Ratna Award honour for a distinguished teaching and professional career in Pharmaceutical Sciences on February 15th, 2016, conferred at Deputy Speaker Hall, Constitution Club of India, New Delhi during the National Seminar on Individual Contribution Towards Economic Growth and Social Development organized by the Global Society for Health and Educational Growth.

The Seminar was chaired by H. E. Waven William, High Commissioner of the Republic of Seychelles Country, Dr. V. B. Soni, Former Diplomat, Ambassador retired from IFS, Sardar Joginder Singh, IPS (Retd), Former CBI Director (India) and Sant Krishanand, Secretary, Vishav Mitra Jan Seva Samiti, Ajmer, Rajasthan. Concurrently, five M-Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics) first year students Nishtha Pushkarna, Simranpal Singh, Tanu Chauhan, Nisha Raj and Lakshita Singh of Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab participated in 19th Punjab Science Congress held at SUS Group of Institutes, Tangori, SAS Nagar, Punjab on 7-9 Feb, 2016. The theme of the congress was “Influence of Science and Technology on Environment and Health”.

Students presented their work as posters during the event on applications of nanoparticulate drug delivery in combination therapy, Microwave assisted modification of materials and their pharmaceutical applications, Magnetic nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery. With Dr. Inderbir Singh, Associate Professor & HOD (Pharmaceutics), Chitkara College of Pharmacy as expert judge for evaluating the participants for the Young Scientist Award during the conference.
