Dr Rajnish Sharma successfully completes his tenure as visiting professor at Purdue University, USA

Chitkara University’s learned Scholar Dr. Rajnish Sharma completed his tenure as a Visiting Professor at Purdue University, USA.
In India, the average age of developing a breast cancer has undergone a significant shift over last few decades. Dr Sharma says that Breast cancer is now the most common cancer in most cities in India, and second most common in the rural areas.

He was at Purdue University for almost three months. He did his research work on a technique named as Electroporation, which is considered as an alternate method for treatment of cancer. As a part of his research effort, he mainly focused on important breast cancer cell line MDA-MB- 231 and studied the effects of various parameters for electroporation using chemo drugs like Veliparib, Carboplatin and Cisplatin.

Besides his regular research effort, Dr. Rajnish also actively participated in some of the conferences and workshops organized at Purdue University campus toward improving the systems of mentorship and project-based learning among students.
On his return, Dr. Rajnish expressed his heartfelt thanks to Chitkara University management for providing him this wonderful opportunity. He further told that he would like to make use of his learning in the field of research from Purdue University for adding to Chitkara University’s further growth.
