Dr Prakash Chand, Head, Indian Citation Index and Dr Narinder Kumar, Ex. Scientist CSIR delivers a talk at Chitkara University

Dr. Prakash Chand, Head, Indian Citation Index and Dr Narinder Kumar, Ex. Scientist CSIR was invited to deliver a talk to the researchers of Chitkara University on the importance of publishing quality papers in good journals and how citations by Indian Journals can be improved through quality research. They clarified misconceptions of researchers related to decision to publish in international or national journals of repute. They emphasized improvement of writing quality of research papers, which can further result in better citations, impact factors and reputation of Indian Journals. The motivation of starting the Indian Citation Index was shared, which was followed by a demonstration of the website of Indian Citation Index by Dr. Narinder Kumar.

After the session with the researchers, a meeting was conducted with the Editors of Chitkara University Journals. They provided significant insight into publication issues and practices, which can be followed to upgrade the reputation, citations and impact factor of journals. Both the session proved to be fruitful to researchers and editors.
