Dr. Madhu Chitkara Delivers Keynote on NEP at The Economic Times Rajasthan Business Summit
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University, took center stage at The Economic Times Rajasthan Business Summit & Awards 2024, captivating the audience with her forward-thinking insights on the transformative power of education in shaping India’s future. Held in Jaipur, the summit brought together leaders and visionaries from various sectors. Speaking on the panel “Breaking Barriers: The Role of NEP in Positioning India as a Global Education Hub,” she shared her insights on how the National Education Policy (NEP) can reshape India’s educational future.
She emphasised that NEP’s core principles of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability could position India as a global education hub. Dr. Chitkara highlighted the potential for this policy to foster an ecosystem that nurtures talent, promotes innovation, and embraces diversity, inspiring the audience with her strategic vision for elevating Indian education to international standards.
Dr. Chitkara underscored the significance of global partnerships to enhance inclusivity and diversity in education. She advocated for increased collaboration between Indian and international institutions, which she believes will create a more interconnected academic experience. She also stressed the need to improve the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) and adopt experiential learning methodologies to position Indian institutions as leaders in innovation and research.
“To become a global education hub, we must focus on experiential learning, research-driven academics, and quality assurance,” Dr. Chitkara said. She also urged institutions to foster entrepreneurial thinking, essential for positioning Indian education competitively on the global stage. Strengthening research infrastructure and encouraging entrepreneurial initiatives, she believes, are vital steps toward establishing India as a global leader in education.
Dr. Chitkara closed her address with a powerful message of hope: “The future of education lies in our ability to break barriers, foster inclusivity, and build an ecosystem that encourages innovation and collaboration. Only by embracing change can we transform India’s education system into one that is globally recognised and respected.”
