Dr. Madhu Chitkara Advocates Next-Gen Education at TiE Global Summit 2024
The TiE Global Summit, held in Bengaluru, provided an exceptional platform to highlight Chitkara University’s dedication to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University, delivered a thought-provoking address during the session “Opening Remarks: The Innovation Imperative—Building Next-Gen Institutions.”
Dr. Chitkara, a pioneer in education and leadership, joined an eminent panel that included Prof. Rishikesha Krishnan, Director and Ham Charan Chair Professor in Innovation and Leadership at the Indian Institute of Management, and Prof. Sadagopan, former Director of IIIT Bangalore. She articulated the university’s strategic vision in creating next-generation institutions that prioritise innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial growth. Dr. Chitkara emphasised the need for academia to align with industry to cultivate an environment conducive to meaningful learning and impactful ventures.
Adding to the university’s stellar presence at the summit, startups from the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED) at Chitkara University had the privilege of engaging with global business icons such as Sabeer Bhatia, Co-founder of Hotmail.com; Jeff Hoffman, Founder of World Youth Horizons; Vani Kola, Managing Director of Kalaari Capital; Dr. Ekroop Caur, Secretary of Electronics and IT; and Dr. Shriram Nene. These interactions provided invaluable insights, reinforcing the startups’ resolve to innovate and expand their entrepreneurial horizons.
Since 2015, Chitkara University has been at the forefront of creating an innovation-centric ecosystem. The university has successfully fostered over 250 startups, earning recognition as a hub for entrepreneurial excellence within the Tricity and Punjab region.
