Dr Ashok Kumar Chitkara honoured at PU alumni meet

In a function organized by PUAA, Panjab University Alumni Association, in the Panjab University auditorium, Dr Ashok Kumar Chitkara was honoured amidst thundering applauds. Actor Anupam Kher; MP Kirron Kher and 18 PU alumni were also honoured at PU alumni meet.
PU alumni, who made significant contributions to society in sports, business, industry, social service, art and culture, literature, science and social science, were honoured and Dr Chitkara was a name applauded by one and all. Distinguished PU alumnus and Padma Bhushan awardee actor Anupam Kher was the Chief Guest.
Dr Chitkara forayed into the field of Mathematics by doing B.Sc (Hons School) Mathematics, M.Sc (Hons) Mathematics from Delhi University. He was also awarded Gold Medal in his M.Sc. (Mathematics) for topping the Delhi University. He then went on to pursue his B.Ed, M.Ed and Ph. D. He has to his name the credit of contributing 25 research papers in various journals.
He is now a life member of Indian Mathematical Society, Indian Science Congress Association and Indian Society for Technical Education.
A researcher in Mathematics, Dr Chitkara has authored, co-authored, and edited a number of books, papers and reports and delivered keynotes at Seminars, Symposiums, National Conferences, Universities, and Research Institutions.
The PU meet appreciated the vision put in place by Dr Chitkara and honoured him for his contribution to the field of education. We are so proud of him and are lucky to have a mentor and guide like Dr Chitkara.
