Department of Applied Sciences organized a ‘National Hands-On Workshop on Characterization Techniques and Nanomaterials Applications’ that started with an ‘Overview on Nanomaterial and Nano Technology’ by Dr. Deepa Ghosh, Professor, Scientist-F, Institute Of Nano Science And Technology, Mohali. This was followed by a talk on ‘Photocatalytic And Sensing Application Of Semiconductor Nanostructures’ by Dr Karamjit Singh Dhaliwal, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Punjabi University, Patiala.

The second day of the workshop witnessed an informative talk on ‘Nanotechnology: Concept To Product’ by Dr. I.S. Sandhu, Dean-Examinations, ChitkaraUniversity, Punjab. The next session was conducted on ‘Origin Software’ by Dr. AnshumanSahai, Assistant Professor, Manav Rachna University.

The third day of the workshop started with a technical session on ‘Corel Draw Software, XRD Technique and Material Characterization by XRF’ by DrSanjeev Kumar, Associate Professor, Department Of Physics, Punjab University.

A technical session on ‘Rietveld Refinement’ by Dr Sanjeev was organized on the fourth day of the workshop. Subsequently, a technical session on ‘Latex software’ was conducted by Dr. Tania Bose, Associate Professor, Department Of Applied Sciences, ChitkaraUniversity Punjab.

The last day of the workshop started with expert talk on ‘Exchanged Coupled Nanocomposite Ferrite Magnates: Processing, Properties And Applications’ by Dr. Puneet Sharma, Associate Professor, Thapar University, Patiala. After this, the participants of the workshop visited the Instrumental Lab. The last technical session was held on ‘Expert High Score Plus’ by Dr. ShivaniMalhotra, Associate Professor And Dean, Department Of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Chitkara University, Punjab.

In all, the National Hands-On Workshop On Characterization Techniques And Nanomaterials Applications’ was extremely informative and full of knowledge for the participants.
