Declamation Contest on Democracy and Voting Rights for students organised by NSS

In a country of 1.25 billion citizens, offering that chance to elect your own governing body is a task that is beyond applauds. In the land of the free and the home of the brave, and where “All men are created equally, the right to vote is yet another parameter to prove the equality.

Realising the importance of voting as well as creating awareness about Systematic Voters Education and Election Program, NSS wing of Chitkara University organised an enlightening event wherein Naib Tehsildaar Mr. Satish Kumar Verma, Rajpura as well as various other dignitaries created awareness amongst the youth regarding the importance of their priced vote. A pledge for being a responsible and wise voter was also taken.

A declamation contest on the topic ‘Importance of voting in India’ was also conducted where students from various colleges and Universities along with their nodal officer took part. Approximately 30 students participated in this event. On this important issue chief guest was also recorded by Radio Chitkara.

The real impetus of this day was to ‘Choose Wise and Live Nice’!
