CSHS organized an expert talk for health Sciences Students by GE Healthcare
Chitkara School of Health Sciences organized an expert talk on 26 Sep 2016. The speaker was “Mr. Manish R Pherwani General Manager: South Asia, Education & Professional Services at GE Healthcare”. He made students aware about the modalities and services GE healthcare providers. He discussed that the company has also invested in education and wants to work on improving the literacy rate in India which is still a matter of concern in most states. Also, GE technology is seen to invest their money in other areas as well. One of their projects was trying to understand why there is low attrition of nurses in healthcare organizations. Approximately, 200+ students from Chitkara School of Health Sciences departments as Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Medical Imaging Technology (MIT), Operation theater Technology (OTT), B. Optometry, Physiotherapy, MBA Healthcare Management and Nursing programs has participated in the talk.
GE Healthcare has R&D blocks in Bangalore which is the largest of all. This organization is about twenty-five years old however a few years back they have begun to venture into the healthcare sector. In reference to the healthcare field, GE also offers healthcare courses.
He also mentioned that there are a lot of people who are unaware of the consequence (cancer) of having an x-ray done more than thrice.
