Compendium 2014’ released featuring Radio Chitkara
Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India, released Compendium 2014, featuring Radio Chitkara 107.8 FM and the Theme was ‘Community Radio for Social Change.’
The special feature of this compendium is that it revolves around thematic plenary and breakout sessions that address distinct issues concerned with diverse realities, which are being addressed by various Community Radio Stations across India.
Chitkara University decided to open up a community radio station within the campus with an aim of corporate social responsibility. The radio station has since been airing programs of community concern and social cause. The thematic focus of Radio Chitkara is education, agriculture, health and well-being. The core team that runs the radio comprises Pankaj Garg, Ranjit Singh Chopra and Rupinder Kaur.
The channel is well known for its programs ‘Virse di bukkal’ and ‘Bachon ka mike’.
