CIIF backed venture named among Top 7 Global Startups by the UN World Food Programme
Aumsat Technologies Pvt. Ltd – a Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation (CIIF) startup – supported under the DST NIDHI PRAYAS grant and founded by Riddhish Soni, has been named among one of the “Top 7 Global Startups” by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
The WFP Innovation Accelerator sources support and scales high-potential solutions to end hunger worldwide. Earlier this year, the WFP Innovation Challenge called for disruptive innovations that strengthen climate change adaptation and resilience. Aumsat was chosen for the prestigious World Food Program in 2022 from a pool of 822 applications from around the world. WFP has selected seven innovative startups striving to create a future without hunger. Aumsat provides services for detecting, predicting, and forecasting underground water resources without having to be physically present on the field. Globally, 89 percent of groundwater is used for irrigation activities. However, finding the right source of clean underground water with speed and accuracy is an enormous challenge. Aumsat uses an algorithm that detects and penetrates into 60 m of dry soil to detect subsurface water through radar satellite images.
Aumsat Technologies LLP provides precision-driven, satellite-derived analytics for locating groundwater potential zones, monitoring river water quality, and detecting pipeline water leaks in cities. Unlike conventionally costly and time-consuming methods used in groundwater exploration, Aumsat’s services can help detect groundwater zones with high precision without being physically present in the field. Most of the solutions on the market are focused on groundwater detection. Research has given Aumsat the power to carry out predictive analytics and forecasting unlike any other solution present in the Indian market.
Aumat Technologies LLP has also showcased its new technology to tackle hunger and the climate crisis at a global pitch event held in Munich, Germany, in 2022. Congratulations, Team Aumsat!
