Chitkara University takes a step forward as it boosts start-up Ecosystem
Chitkara University co-hosted the TiE Conference at Hotel Lalit, IT Park, Chandigarh this month.
It was the first ever conference being organised in Chandigarh exclusively to boost the start-up culture and leverage the start-up ecosystem in Chandigarh region.
Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University, Dr Madhu Chitkara was the speaker one of the panel discussions along with Mr Vivek Atray on the topic “Destination Chandigarh-Life, Success & Start-ups”.
Dr Madhu underlined the whole process from identifying a start-up idea then taking it to an industry and pointed out that this is the high time for start-ups to spring up as the ecosystem to support such endeavours is being strengthened.
The event had distinguished speakers – T V Mohandas Pai (Chairman Manipal Global Education, ex-member of board of Directors Infosys), Sanjeev Bikhchandani (Founder and executive vice chairman of Info Edge which owns Naukri.com), Ravi Gururaj (Founder and CEO at Qikpod), Mahesh Murthy (Founder Pinstorm), K Ganesh, Serial Entrepreneur, Partner -Growth Story.in and Chairman, Portea Medical and many more.
Former Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Adjunct Professor & JC Bose National Fellow IISER, Mohali Dr. P.S. Ahuja delivered the keynote address at the symposium, which was organized by the Department of Microbial Biotechnology at the CIL auditorium of PU.
There were over 500 participants and 30 plus exhibitors.
Chitkara University looks forward to take this start-up trend forward and contribute towards the Nation’s vision of Start-up-Stand-up India.
The main purpose of TiEcon Chandigarh is to ignite, inspire and highlight opportunities, disruption and innovation in entrepreneurship. It was an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to get network, get mentored, compete for angel funding, talk one-to-one with venture capitalists and make meaningful connections with clients, mentors and investors.
