Chitkara University students carry out project on Synthesis at Nano-materials Research laboratory
The M.Pharmacy Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics students of Chitkara College of Pharmacy from batch 2012 in collaboration with Nano-materials Research laboratory (NRL) carried out project on synthesis of biocompatible doped nanoparticles and pharmacological evaluation for ischemic preconditioning and Acelofenac loaded Zno nanoparticles of ocular drug delivery.
Biocompatible ZnO doped nanoparticles were formulated and taken up for study. The study is a part of project on antimicrobial, pharmacological and toxicology evaluation of doped nanoparticles.
The importance of the research work is to find out the therapeutic potential of these nanoparticles in stroke, as antimicrobial agents, as adjuvant with antibiotics to overcome the antibiotic resistance. This research work will be documented for patent and international publications.
The students named Nancy, Shika, Avneesh, Amrinder Singh, Garima under the supervision of faculty Dr. Mansi Chitkara, Dr. I.S. Sandhu, Mr. Inderbir Singh, Mr. Thakur Gurjeet Singh and Mr. Sunil Kumar completed various stages of the research work.
Dr. Sandeep Arora, Director, College of pharmacy supported the research work and appreciated work done by pharmacy students.
Apart from this, Nano-materials Research Laboratory, Chitkara University, has to its credit three new international publications recently, including two research papers and one book chapter in nanotechnology encyclopedia.
