Chitkara University Student Wins Prestigious ‘Lady Ada 2024’ Competition
Gouri Sharma, a B.Tech Computer Science Engineering student from Chitkara University, emerged as the winner of the prestigious ‘Lady Ada 2024′ competition. This event was jointly organised by the Centre for Research Impact and Outcome (CRIO) at Chitkara University and ACM-W-India, aimed to promote excellence and innovation among women in technology.
Gouri Sharma distinguished herself in a rigorous two-hour coding contest that tested participants’ programming prowess, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills. Her exceptional performance against a field of some of the brightest young minds in the country exemplified her technical expertise and dedication to advancing in the domain of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
The ‘Lady Ada 2024’ competition not only provided a platform to recognise and reward young women technologists but also served as a significant step toward bridging gender gaps in the technology sector. By encouraging participation from women in STEM, the event aimed to inspire a new generation of innovators and leaders in technology, honouring the legacy of Ada Lovelace, one of history’s first computer programmers.
