WorldSkills believes that skills make a difference. That skills change lives. From big data; to new education eco-systems – megatrends are shaping the future of skills and the future of our industries, our work, and our societies. At WorldSkills Conference, scheduled to be held on August 23-24, 2019, industry leaders, policy-makers, education and training providers, researchers, and changemakers will turn Kazan into an international incubator for innovative solutions for change. The program will be presented over three unique and connected tracks connecting the global megatrends to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the 2017 Youth Declaration on the Future of TVET.

Every two years WorldSkills hosts the world skills competition which attracts more than 1,600 Competitors from more than 60 countries. At this event, young people from all corners of the globe gather together for the chance to win a prestigious medal in their chosen skill. There are competitions in 56 skills across a wide range of industries — from joinery to floristry; hairdressing to electronics; and autobody repair to bakery. The Competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from skills competitions that are held in WorldSkills Member countries and regions.

One of the legacies of WorldSkills Competitions is the increased visibility of skilled professional education, as one of the tools of social and economic transformation. The Competition also provides leaders in the industry, government, and education with the opportunity to exchange information and best practices regarding industry and professional education. New ideas and processes inspire school-aged youth to dedicate themselves to technical and technological careers and build a better future.

This year, the Competition is scheduled to take place in Kazan on August 22-27, 2019. The event will be held at the KAZAN EXPO International Exhibition Centre where up to 1,300 Experts will evaluate the Competitors’ work.
