Chitkara University student Shivya Pathania is Miss Shimla, qualifies for Miss India Universe

The shining tiara, people cheering, laughter, compliments, appreciations, offers, the much-coveted sash and the ‘title’, were just some of the things that Shivya Pathania, an engineering student from Chitkara University, experienced as she clinched the ‘Miss Shimla’ title.

Shivya is a final-year ECE student of the University and had participated in the pageant in association with Indian Diva.

She said that she had undergone a training of about 10 days and was groomed by the best in the industry to face the judges. The girls were groomed by Talent Inspirit Group.

Thanking Chitkara University for all the support provided, Shivya said that the faculty at Chitkara University always extends unending support and encouraged her to do well in every endeavor of hers.

The contest took place on June 4 during the International Summer Festival in Shimla. The event was judged by Marc Robinson, National Director of the Femina Miss India Contest, Bharti Taneja, Director-ALPS Beauty Clinic, Pratima Malhotra Deputy Commissioner’s wife, Vatsala Khera and Reena Singh.

Chief Guest for the show was present Miss India, Navneet Kaur Dhillon.

Shivya while sharing her happiness with us stated that, “I got three titles, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Oye, Miss Oye was given for a Radio Jockey Hunt in association with Oye 104.8 FM, with a starting package of 3.5 lakhs, where I will see when the training starts. And at last Miss Shimla 2013 and this makes me one of the top among 40 direct entries as a contestant for Indian Diva who will go for Miss India Universe. I’ll be further choosing from my options what to pursue.”
