Chitkara University signs MoU with SAEINDIA, a professional Society of Automotive Engineers to provide exposure to our engineering students
Chitkara University has been known for its unassailable reputation for very strong academic and industry connect. In order to expand more intense interaction of academia and industries, Chitkara University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd promoted BAJA SAEINDIA, a professional Society of Automotive Engineers. As a part of MoU signed, Chitkara University will host the virtual rounds of the upcoming edition of BAJA SAEINDIA from 2017-2019.

We are elated to join hands with Chitkara University and hope to successfully conduct the upcoming virtual BAJA SAEINDIA in the future.
To share, a brief about BAJA SAE Series®; It is an event for the undergraduate engineering students, organized globally by the Society of Automotive Engineers, USA. The event spread like a wildfire since its inception in the year 1976 and broaden its horizon in the countries like USA, Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Brazil & India.
In India, the BAJA SAEINDIA (Society of Automotive Engineers) began its journey in the year 2007 and was launched under the leadership of Dr. Pawan Goenka (during his tenure as SAEINDIA President) and the convenorship of Dr. K.C. Vora. As SAEINDIA ventured on to the unchartered territory of holding a mega-event of this scale, NATRiP came forward to lend a helping hand through an earmarked zone at its upcoming proving grounds- NATRAX, situated at Pithampur, Indore.
BAJA SAEINDIA is an educational pursuit for the engineering college students, an out-of-classroom-education system, where engineering students from all over India can participate as a team, giving them practical exposure to real world challenges as faced in the industry. In this international student level competition, the teams from universities all over the country, design, analyse, fabricate and validate an all-terrain vehicle which is evaluated during a series of Static, Dynamic and Durability events like design, cost evaluation, sales presentation, acceleration, manoeuvrability, hill climb and endurance.
Adding to this partnership, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice – Chancellor Chitkara University said, “I am delighted to see that over the years, BAJA has grown in popularity and has become a bigger event nationally signifying its increasing popularity. I have seen the enthusiasm of our students who have been participating in this annual competition. I must say it is an apt platform for the young engineering talent to showcase their skills and acquire a real life experience.
