Chitkara University represented at MUN Conference 2017
Students of Model United Nations Society (MUNSOC) represented Chitkara University in 2 MUN conferences. One at PIMT MUN, a two-day conference held in Punjab Institute of Management and Technology and the second at CGC, Landran.
The delegation consisted of a number of new members who took the initiative in the understanding of a Model United Nations and believed in the vision of MUNSOC in building a community of free thinkers.
At MUN , PIMT three committees were simulated in this conference namely, United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), All India Political Party Meet (AIPPM) along with an International Press headed by Nivranshu Sharma, a senior member of MUN SOC who, with his extraordinary skills in the field of photography and reporting, made sure that delegates attending the conference are aware of the discussions and progress being made in other committees.
MUN CGC Landran had four conventional committees and an All India Political Parties Meet. However, the highlight of all was Prayas-A committee for the specially abled which discussed ‘Empowerment of Minority Sections’.
In the span of two days, the delegates took part in exhaustive debates and made a name for Model United Nations Society in the Model United Nations circuits.
Students exhibiting true diplomatic spirit lobbied and engaged in understanding the stand of other delegates and tried to put their views across in a constructive manner to ensure an efficient resolution.
