Chitkara University ranks among ‘Top 50 Global Universities in Entrepreneurial Spirit’ by WURI Ranking 2021
Chitkara University has been ranked 47th in ‘Entrepreneurial Spirit’ in the “World’s Universities with Real Impact Ranking 2021”. The World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Ranking is designed to highlight and appreciate the efforts of universities to produce a future workforce aligning with the growing demands in contemporary society. It is organized by the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) and sponsored by four other organizations including, Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) from the Netherlands; the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS) from Seoul, South Korea; UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) from Geneva, Switzerland; Tailor Institute of Franklin University (FUS) from Lugano, Switzerland.
The Ranking, which seeks to assess the innovativeness of universities for the future, were released on June 10th, 2021. The Chairman of IPSNC and Professor Emeritus of Seoul National University, Hwy-Chang Moon presented the key ranking and highlights of WURI Ranking 2021.
The top 100 universities for the WURI ranking, aka “Global Top 100.” alongside the top 50 universities in each of the five criteria: Industrial Application, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Ethical Value, Student Mobility and Openness, and Crisis Management were unveiled. A new criterion was also added this year, that is, Crisis Management. It evaluates the extent to which universities are effectively and flexibly coping with external disruption such as the COVID-19 global pandemic and technology breakthroughs (e.g., Artificial Intelligence).
