Published on March 31, 2025 | 90 views

Chitkara University has taken a significant step toward supporting the naval community by formalising a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Naval Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA). The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to educational empowerment and holistic welfare, ensuring that naval personnel and their families have access to quality education and opportunities for academic and professional growth.

The MoU was signed in the esteemed presence of Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University; Shashi Tripathi, President, NWWA; and Commodore SM Urooj Athar, Commodore, Naval Education. This partnership marks a transformative initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to Veer Naris, serving officers, and the wards of both serving and retired naval personnel, across various academic programs offered by Chitkara University. By easing financial constraints, the initiative seeks to ensure that education remains an accessible and empowering tool for the naval community.

Recognising the sacrifices made by naval personnel, Chitkara University’s collaboration with NWWA goes beyond financial aid. It reflects a deep-seated commitment to supporting those who dedicate their lives to the nation’s security. Through specialised academic programs, skill development initiatives, and career guidance, the university aims to equip naval personnel and their families with the knowledge and expertise required to excel in diverse professional domains.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University, emphasised the university’s mission to create meaningful social impact through education. She highlighted that this initiative aligns with Chitkara University’s larger vision of empowering communities and fostering lifelong learning. Shashi Tripathi and Commodore SM Urooj Athar echoed similar sentiments, appreciating the university’s proactive approach in extending educational opportunities to the naval fraternity.

The signing of this MoU marks not just an agreement but a commitment to a long-term association, ensuring that members of the naval community receive the best possible academic support to build promising futures. With this partnership, Chitkara University reaffirms its role as an institution dedicated to educational excellence, inclusivity, and national service, fostering a brighter tomorrow for those who serve and protect the nation.
