Chitkara University Organises Health Check-Up Camp in Thuha Village
Chitkara University, Punjab, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), Chitkara College of Pharmacy, and Chitkara School of Health Sciences, organised a comprehensive Health Check-up Camp in Thuha, an adopted village of the university. The initiative focused on providing essential healthcare services to the village residents while also promoting the importance of preventative care and overall well-being.
The camp provided an accessible opportunity for villagers to undergo health assessments close to home, eliminating the need for long-distance travel to seek medical attention. From blood pressure checks to general health consultations, the camp covered a wide spectrum of healthcare needs, catering to residents of all ages. This initiative underscored the critical role of proactive healthcare, shifting the focus from reactive treatment to preventative measures that help individuals maintain their health over time.
The health check-up camp was staffed by dedicated volunteers, many of whom were students, and skilled medical professionals. These teams worked in tandem to create a welcoming and supportive environment where the health and well-being of every resident were given top priority. The camp not only provided immediate health solutions but also offered personalised advice and guidance, empowering residents to take control of their health long after the camp had concluded.
The experience was equally transformative for the student volunteers, who gained a deeper understanding of the impact that healthcare outreach can have on a community. For the medical professionals involved, it was an opportunity to extend their expertise beyond the confines of a clinic, reaching people who might otherwise lack access to basic healthcare services. The camp also fostered a sense of trust and unity between the university and the village, with healthcare serving as the bridge that connected them.
Chitkara University’s commitment to the holistic development of its adopted communities was evident through this initiative. By prioritising the well-being of residents in Thuha, the university reinforced its dedication to fostering sustainable, long-term health outcomes. The Health Check-up Camp exemplified how accessible healthcare can contribute to stronger, healthier communities, and served as a reminder that good health is the cornerstone of both personal and collective prosperity.
Through initiatives like these, the university continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to uplifting communities and promoting health and well-being as a vital part of holistic development.
