Chitkara University Marks World Optometry Day 2025 with Unique Sports Fiesta

Chitkara University’s Department of Optometry, in collaboration with the University Sports Department, celebrated World Optometry Day 2025 with a Sports Fiesta, bringing together students for a series of engaging and insightful activities. Designed to emphasise the critical role of vision in sports and daily life, the event featured interactive games that tested perception, coordination, and adaptability.

The Colour Vision Treasure Hunt challenged participants to navigate a treasure hunt based on colour perception, while Foosball with Blurred Vision simulated visual impairments, requiring players to adjust their strategy accordingly. The Visual Memory Game tested cognitive recall, and Blindfold Darts encouraged participants to rely on alternative senses for precision. Adding to the excitement, the Monocular Badminton match required players to compete with one eye covered, highlighting the significance of depth perception and hand-eye coordination.

The event was a perfect blend of education and entertainment, allowing students to experience firsthand how vision impacts performance in various activities. By stepping into the shoes of individuals with visual challenges, participants gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of eye health and the role of optometry in enhancing quality of life.
