Chitkara University Marks World Alzheimer’s Day with Expert Talk on Alzheimer’s Awareness
Chitkara University, Punjab, celebrated World Alzheimer’s Day with an event aimed at raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. The National Service Scheme (NSS) organised an expert talk to educate students and faculty on the complexities of this neurodegenerative condition, reinforcing the university’s commitment to public health education and social responsibility.
Dr. Ishank Goel, a renowned neurologist from Fortis Hospital, Mohali, led the session as the distinguished speaker. With his extensive expertise in neurology, Dr. Goel offered a thorough exploration of Alzheimer’s disease, covering its causes, risk factors, early warning signs, and stages of progression. His presentation emphasised the importance of recognising the often-subtle symptoms that may go unnoticed until the disease has advanced. Adding to the depth of the session, Kanchan Kapila, Head of Fortis Medical Centre, also contributed her insights, enhancing the discussion with her experience in healthcare and patient care.
