Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University, and Dr. Krishna K. Mishra, Pro Vice Chancellor (Quality Assurance), recently participated in the launch of Modialogue: Conversations for a Viksit Bharat, authored by Ashwin Fernandes. The event, held with great significance, saw the presence of Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, National Spokesperson for the BJP; Jessica Turner; and Smriti Irani, Former Union Cabinet Minister.

Modialogue features contributions from notable figures such as Dr. Pramod Sawant, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Satish Mahana, Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, and Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The book offers deep insights into shaping India’s future through education and development, aligning with the vision of a progressive nation, or “Viksit Bharat.”

Dr. Madhu Chitkara lauded Dr. Fernandes’ book for its vision and relevance. She remarked, “Modialogue is a remarkable work that sheds light on how education can drive India’s development. It aligns closely with our university’s mission of making education a transformative force, creating leaders who will contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress. I congratulate Dr. Ashwin Fernandes on this significant contribution.”

The event served as a crucial platform for addressing how India’s education system must evolve to meet the demands of the 21st century, particularly in areas such as innovation, technology integration, and skill development. Dr. Chitkara emphasised that the future of India’s economy and global standing depends on the ability to cultivate not just technical expertise but also critical thinking, creativity, and ethical leadership in students. She stressed the significance of fostering partnerships between educational institutions, government bodies, and the private sector to build an education model that is resilient, forward-looking, and capable of adapting to the rapidly shifting global landscape.

Moreover, the discussion delved into the role of education in empowering marginalised communities, promoting inclusive and equitable learning opportunities, and ensuring that education becomes a tool for societal upliftment and national progress. Dr. Chitkara underscored the need for strategic investments in education infrastructure, curriculum modernisation, and research to create a workforce that can contribute to the vision of a self-reliant and developed India, or “Viksit Bharat.”

Chitkara University remains committed to aligning itself with national initiatives like Viksit Bharat, continuously working towards shaping future leaders and contributing to India’s knowledge economy. The participation of its leadership in this prestigious event reaffirms the university’s dedication to quality education and national development.
