Chitkara University hosts SNEAKULT
Chitkara University hosted India’s first ever Sneaker Fest SNEAKULT in collaboration with Startup Swap & Style. It was a star-studded event that witnessed the presence of Vedant Lamba, Founder, Mainstreet Market Place, Mumbai. Vedant, a Sneaker Business Icon of India, is also a part of the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia. The students enthusiastically took part in the event held at the Sportorium. EXPO of homegrown sneakers, apparel, lifestyle gifts was part of this day-long mela and had sneaker lovers and enthusiasts visiting the venue throughout the day.
Sneaker culture has seen exponential growth during the last few years and, Vedant Lamba is at the forefront of this revolution. A versatile entrepreneur, who has established himself as a name to recon with in the sneaker world with his venture — The Mainstreet Marketplace, one of the country’s biggest sneaker reselling platforms. Since its inception in 2017 with Vedant’s YouTube channel called ‘Mainstreet TV’, where Vedant discussed with his audience about new sneaker launches, their availability, etc. to his first store in Pune, today The Mainstreet Marketplace has grown into a substantial element in the game with its outlets in Mumbai and the recently opened Delhi outlet, which is spread across an area of 1600 sq. ft and is touted to be one of Asia’s largest resale stores. The Mainstreet Marketplace has an exclusive clientele across the country, ranging from Bollywood celebrities to influential businessmen to students alike, trading in some of the most exclusive kicks from brands like Yeezy, Jordan, Adidas, Nike, and apparel from Essentials, Drewhouse, Supreme, Palm Angles, Off White and the likes.
Office of Student Affairs, Ecell JAZBA from Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh and Team Ecell Punjab collaborated for professional ground management of the event. The evening culminated with a DJ night. Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University graced the occasion and greeted the Celebrities and Champions from the Sneaker World.
