Chitkara University Hosts National Seminar on Quality Assurance in Higher Education
Chitkara University, Punjab, took a significant stride in promoting excellence in higher education by hosting the “National Seminar on Quality Assurance in Higher Education (QAHE-2023).” The event garnered immense participation, receiving 85 research article submissions. A total of 137 researchers authored 65 high-quality papers, which were meticulously selected for publication in the seminar’s prestigious souvenir.
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University, underscored the paramount importance of human capital in ensuring the highest standards in higher education. Emphasising the multifaceted role of knowledge, skills, creativity, and moral virtues, Dr. Chitkara highlighted how these elements collectively contribute to the overarching goal of maintaining quality in educational institutions.
Adding depth to the discourse, Dr. Archana Mantri, Vice-Chancellor of Chitkara University, Punjab, delved into the parameters outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, providing valuable insights into the intricacies of ensuring and sustaining quality in higher education.
The seminar also featured illuminating talks by three distinguished experts. Dr. Narinder Kumar Jassal, Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR-CSIO and Coordinator at DSIR-TePP Outreach and Cluster Innovation Centre (TOCIC) in Chandigarh, shared his expertise. Dr. Sachin Verma, Senior Manager at the Institutional Research & Analytics Office, American University of Sharjah, UAE, provided an international perspective on quality assurance. Additionally, Dr. Vinith Kumar Nair, Associate Director at the Centre for Accreditations, Rankings & Eminence, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Deemed to be University), Kerala, shared valuable insights on accreditation processes.
