Chitkara University Hosts Insightful Session on Women’s Wellness and Health Awareness
Chitkara University, Punjab, through its National Service Scheme, organised a compelling session on Women’s Wellness, focusing on the importance of health awareness, self-care, and open conversations surrounding women’s well-being. The event brought together students and faculty for an engaging discussion that emphasised proactive healthcare and breaking societal taboos related to women’s health.
The session was led by Pooja Mehta, Head of Department at Fortis Bloom IVF Centre, Mohali, who provided expert insights into various aspects of women’s wellness, including sexual health, mental well-being, and holistic self-care. Her approach made complex medical topics more accessible, transforming the session into an interactive dialogue rather than a conventional lecture. Through real-life examples and candid discussions, she addressed critical yet often overlooked health issues, encouraging participants to engage without hesitation.
A significant highlight of the session was the open Q&A segment, where attendees voiced concerns and misconceptions regarding women’s health. The interactive format allowed for meaningful discussions, with Mehta offering thoughtful, science-backed responses that clarified doubts and dispelled common myths. The session not only fostered awareness but also created an atmosphere of trust, where students felt comfortable discussing health matters that are often left unspoken.
Emphasising that wellness is a necessity, not a luxury, Mehta urged women to prioritise their health, advocating for a proactive approach to both physical and mental well-being. She highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups, mental health care, and an open dialogue on reproductive health, reinforcing that informed choices lead to a healthier life.
The event stood as a powerful reminder that women’s health is not just an individual concern but a societal priority. By equipping participants with knowledge and encouraging self-advocacy, the session extended beyond awareness—it empowered attendees to take charge of their well-being. Chitkara University continues to champion such initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to holistic education and fostering a culture where wellness is recognised, respected, and prioritised.
