Chitkara University Hosts Design League Unleash the Sport Streak for Communication Design Students
The Department of Communication Design, in collaboration with the Chitkara University Sports Board, successfully organised the two-day indoor and outdoor sports championship, ‘Design League: Unleash the Sport Streak!’ The event provided an exhilarating platform for students of Communication Design to engage in competitive sports while fostering teamwork, strategy, and endurance—skills essential not only in athletics but also in the design industry.
Held on campus, the championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from students in a variety of sporting events, including Volleyball, Tug of War, Dart, Chess, Table Tennis, and Foosball. The high-energy competition tested the participants’ focus, reflexes, and strategic acumen, reinforcing the importance of coordination and perseverance in both sports and professional endeavours.
The championship aimed to blend physical activity with the creative spirit of Communication Design students, encouraging them to step beyond the confines of their studios and embrace the synergy between sports and design thinking. The thrilling contests kept the participants engaged and provided an opportunity to build camaraderie and sportsmanship among peers.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were felicitated by Harinder Pal Singh, Director – University Sports Board, and Manpal Setia, Dean – Communication Design School. Their presence underscored the university’s commitment to holistic education, emphasising both intellectual and physical development.
