Chitkara University hosts 10th International ADT Symposium
Chitkara School of Health Sciences organized the 10th International ADT-Advanced Diagnostic Techniques Symposium, on the Theme “Recent Trends in Diagnosis and Therapy in Present-Day Healthcare” from March 29th to March 31st, 2022 in a blended mode at Chitkara University’s Punjab campus. The session started with a brief introduction of the ADT symposium by Dr. Sonika Bakshi Bhandari, Dean, CSHS.
Dr. Areet Kaur (Director, National Health Mission (NHM) Punjab) was the Chief Guest for the event, she addressed the audience on the current healthcare situation. Rajesh Kaushish (Joint Director CDAC, Mohali) spoke about his experiences with the eSanjeevani project.
An august gathering of speakers addressed the audience during the Symposium, Dr. Sanjay Sood, Director, eSanjeevani, CDAC, Mohali, Dr. Gurbir Singh, Prof. Emeritus, CSHS, Dr. Kris See KS, Medical Director, Chief Clinical and Innovation scientist, Lord of Ryton, U.K., Dr. Suhasini Sonavdekar, Prof. SMBT Medical College, Nasik, Maharashtra, Dr. Andreas Fiehn, Medical Director, University of Osnabrueck, Cassel, Hesse, Germany.
Meenakshi Sood, Dean, DRC, CSHS, and Dr. Urvashi Tandon, Associate Professor, DRC, CBS, chaired the sessions, which were followed by an oral presentation by delegates.
The symposium encompassed keynote talks from eminent experts both of national and international repute from the varied disciplines of diagnostic techniques and practices in allied healthcare. The technical sessions comprised of oral, poster, quiz, and case study presentations demonstrating the current trends and research outcomes from information pertaining to various diagnostic techniques, which would explore new dimensions in the field of academia, industry, and research, 400 delegates participated in the symposium.
The event had keynote Speaker Dr. Harsh Mohan, Book Author, Senior Consultant pathologist emphasizing the importance of Emerging Technologies in Diagnostic Pathology, followed by the international speaker, Dr. Puneet Tuli, Attending Physician, Banner De E Webb Hospital, Arizona who addressed virtually regarding the Accelerating Innovation and access in immunization. Thereafter, Dr. Neerja Gupta, Medical Microbiologist, Sri Guru Harikrishan Sahib, Sohana Eye, and Super Speciality, Charitable Hospital shared her thoughts on Covid-19 pandemic: Where are we now? The session was concluded by Dr. Madhu Gupta – Professor, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh, sensitizing the delegates about Vaccines of COVID-19 and their efficacy. Dr. Rupesh Srivastava – Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, AIIMS, New Delhi made the delegates aware of the Covid-19: Immunology, Immunopathogenesis, and Therapeutics.
It was followed by an oral presentation by delegates, the session chair was Dr. Harmeet Kaur, principal, CCN , Co-chair was Dr. Kanika Rai, Vice principal CCN and Dr. Pooja Dogra, assistant professor, CSHS, Chitkara University, Punjab. The session concluded with our international speaker Dr. Sandeep K Vasishta – Chief of research advisory, Switzerland, highlighting the In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) Technologies for COVID-19 pandemic management (online). A virtual session has held by Dr. Shuchin Bajaj, Founder Director, Ujala Cygnus Hospitals.
Sopana a ‘Student Startup Club’ an initiative of CSHS was inaugurated by Dr. Rishi Mangat, Joint MD, Apollo Clinic and CHD City Hospital, Chandigarh, Dr. Adarsh Aggarwal, Associate Director, CIIF, to guide and encourage students for initiating their startups. The three day event was concluded with a valedictory session in which awards were given to the position holders of different competitions held.
Chitkara School of Health Sciences has been organizing ADT Symposium since its inception in the year 2012. The Symposium continues to encourage young and innovative minds to pursue a career in science and technology by providing a suitable platform to present their research work and enhance it through interaction with eminent scientists and field experts.
