On 21 February 2023, as part of the Tuning Tuesdays initiative by the Office of Student Affairs at Chitkara University, Punjab, hostellers had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Tum Kon Ho’ Theatre Workshop, which aimed to provide a fun, learning, and joyous experience for the students. Led by an experienced instructor, the workshop covered the basics of theatre, including why it is important and what it takes to become a successful theatre artist.
The response from the students was overwhelming, with a large number turning up to participate in various activities such as impromptu scripts, ‘showcase your dream character’, and ‘make your way’. Through these activities, the students were able to tap into their creativity and express themselves more confidently. The workshop culminated in a two-hour performance where students presented their final acts, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained and impressed. It was clear from their performances that the students had gained confidence and enthusiasm through the experience of performing on stage.
Theatre is not only about entertainment, but it also teaches important life skills such as teamwork, communication, and creative problem-solving.
