Chitkara University Honours Educators with Grand Teacher’s Day Celebration
Chitkara University celebrated Teacher’s Day with a vibrant tribute to its educators, highlighting their pivotal role in shaping future generations. Themed “Roots of Radiance: Nurturing Growth, Igniting Passion,” the event underscored the university’s commitment to recognising the invaluable contributions of its faculty as the true bearers of wisdom.
The evening featured captivating performances by the teachers themselves, who showcased their talents in music and dance. These performances revealed the multifaceted nature of educators, who extend their influence beyond academics, sharing life lessons and fostering creativity. The highlight was a symbolic walk led by Dr. S.C. Sharma, Registrar, along with Deans, Directors, and HODs, representing the vision of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This act emphasised the university’s focus on sustainable development and the essential role of education in achieving global objectives.
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University, a stalwart with over 55 years in education, shared her insights on the transformative power of teaching. Her dedication has profoundly influenced the university’s growth, continuously inspiring the Chitkara fraternity.
The event was graced by esteemed actress and costume designer Dolly Ahluwalia as the guest of honour. Ahluwalia delivered an insightful speech on the profound impact of teachers, emphasising that while academic knowledge is crucial, it is the life lessons imparted by educators that truly shape character and spirit.
In recognition of her contributions, Dr. Madhu Chitkara presented a token of appreciation to Dolly Ahluwalia. The evening concluded with a standing ovation, celebrating both the guest of honour and the essence of Teacher’s Day—a heartfelt tribute to the educators who inspire and nurture the next generation.
