As Director General of Police in Tripura and Manipur, Vohra tackled complex insurgencies head-on, implementing effective strategies to restore order and stability in areas such as Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and the North-East. His leadership during tumultuous times has left an indelible mark, particularly in Tripura and Manipur, where his efforts in managing long-standing conflicts have fostered a sense of security and trust among communities.

Beyond his commendable service in law enforcement, Vohra’s expertise extends to numerous sectors, including critical leadership positions in the Border Security Force (BSF), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). His tenure as Home Secretary of Manipur further exemplifies his commitment to enhancing public safety and governance, earning him prestigious accolades such as the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and the ‘Guru Samman’ from the Vice President of India.

In his post-retirement journey, B.L. Vohra has continued to make significant contributions to society. As a consultant for a Nobel Prize-winning organisation based in Geneva and the chairman of two prominent schools in Delhi, he remains an advocate for education and skills development. His initiative, M5 Trainers, has empowered thousands through training programs in leadership, motivation, and public speaking, highlighting his dedication to nurturing future leaders. Additionally, he serves as a mentor for civil service aspirants, guiding the next generation of public servants.

Vohra’s literary contributions further amplify his impact. As a prolific author of 14 books and editor of two journals, his writings reflect deep insights into the complexities of Indian society and governance. His memoir, “An Unlikely Police Chief,” provides a fascinating perspective on his life and experiences within the Indian Police Service, resonates with readers for its candidness and depth.
