Chitkara University marked National Entrepreneurship Day with an inspiring and dynamic event organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED). The celebration highlighted the spirit of entrepreneurship, recognising the remarkable contributions of changemakers who have shaped India’s burgeoning startup ecosystem. This event served as a platform to honour and draw inspiration from individuals who have not only excelled in their entrepreneurial ventures but have also played pivotal roles in transforming industries.
The session featured prominent entrepreneurs who shared their success stories and offered valuable insights into the journey of building a business from the ground up. Inderjeet Makkar, Co-Founder of Proxgy, took center stage to recount his entrepreneurial journey. He shared how his startup, which specialises in virtual reality and remote presence technology, secured ₹1 crore in funding from Ashneer Grover and Peyush Bansal on Shark Tank India. The investment propelled Proxgy to new heights, culminating in a subsequent $5 million funding round led by Nikhil Kamath. His journey stood as a testament to the power of innovation and the importance of perseverance in the entrepreneurial world.
Alongside Makkar, Kirti Goel, Co-Founder of P-TAL, also captivated the audience with her story. P-TAL, a unique startup focused on creating high-quality brass, copper, and kansa products, secured ₹1 crore from all the Sharks on Shark Tank, underscoring the immense potential of traditional industries combined with modern business acumen. Goel’s narrative highlighted the importance of staying true to one’s roots while embracing innovation, a key message for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The energy and enthusiasm displayed by Chitkara University’s students throughout the event reflected the untapped potential within the institution, positioning it as a breeding ground for future changemakers. The event not only honoured these successful entrepreneurs but also inspired students to pursue their own entrepreneurial dreams, emphasising that every impactful journey begins with a single idea and the courage to bring it to life.
