Chitkara University Empowers NIT Jalandhar’s Bootcamp on Unmanned Aerial Systems
A team of experts from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, CUIET-AE, Chitkara University, was recently invited to lead sessions at the prestigious 5-Day Bootcamp on “Unmanned Aerial Systems – Drone” organized by the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar. The boot camp, held under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, aimed to enhance Human Resource Development in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems.
The team from Chitkara University conducted a series of 10 sessions over three days, covering a wide range of topics related to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The sessions included in-depth discussions on flight dynamics and control, camera and LiDAR technologies, scanning techniques, sensor fusion, the role of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, regulatory aspects, Robot Operating Systems (ROS), drone assembly, calibration, and autonomous mission planning.
The workshop concluded on a successful note, with a captivating demonstration of autonomous flights, showcasing the practical application of the knowledge and skills shared during the sessions.
Esteemed members of the team included Dr. Vijay Kumar Jadon, Mr. Gurpreet Singh, and Dr. Gurdyal Singh, who represented the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, CUIET-AE, Chitkara University. The team had the honor of sharing the stage with the Chief Guest, Dr. V K Kanaujia, Director of NIT Jalandhar, during the inaugural function of the boot camp.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students representing various esteemed institutions, along with notable representatives from the Ministry.
The collaboration between Chitkara University and NIT Jalandhar has further strengthened the knowledge exchange and capacity-building efforts in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems, contributing to the overall growth and development of the industry.
