Chitkara University Commemorates Basant Panchami with Reverence and Festivity
Chitkara University, Punjab, embraced the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami with a celebration that blended reverence with festivity, marking the transition from winter to spring with vibrant rituals and cultural fervour.
Basant Panchami, a festival dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, holds profound significance in Indian culture, particularly in the realms of education and creativity. The day dawned amidst the campus adorned in hues of yellow, symbolising positivity and enlightenment, attributes associated with the goddess. Students and faculty alike donned yellow attire and adorned their surroundings with yellow flowers, reflecting the festive spirit that permeated the atmosphere.
Dr. Archana Mantri, Vice-Chancellor of Chitkara University, Punjab, led the ceremonial homage to Goddess Saraswati, accompanied by Dr. S.C. Sharma, Registrar, and esteemed deans of various departments. The ceremony resonated with the melodious recitation of Sanskrit shlokas, evoking a sense of tradition and spirituality among the gathered community.
