Chitkara University Celebrates World Poetry Day with “Sangam – Lekhak, Kaviyon aur Kavitaon Ka”

Chitkara University, Punjab, celebrated World Poetry Day in a grand fashion with its event, “Sangam – Lekhak, Kaviyon aur Kavitaon Ka.” The event, organized by the Office of Student Affairs, was held on 21st March 2023, at the Explore Stars Hall, and aimed to provide a platform for Chitkarians to showcase their talents and creativity in poetry recitation and enactment competitions.

The event witnessed some outstanding performances dedicated to themes such as love, belonging, valor, and family relationships. The students recited some of the most famous poems of Indian literature, including Rabindranath Tagore’s “Where the mind is without fear” and Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s “Madhushala.” The event also saw some fantastic performances by the students who presented their compositions on various themes.

The event commenced with a beautiful Hindi poem recitation, “Aaj phir unse mulakat hogi,” which set the tone for the evening. The students presented their pieces with utmost grace and creativity, showcasing their talent in poetry recitation and enactment. One of the highlights of the event was a moving poem titled “Dastak,” which was a poignant reminder of the power of hope in difficult times.

The poetic afternoon was a true reflection of the power of words to bring people together and express emotions that transcend boundaries. It left everyone feeling inspired and connected with each other through the art of poetry. The top three winners were announced and felicitated for their outstanding contributions, which left a lasting impact on everyone present.
