Chitkara University celebrates International Mother Language Day

The Office of Student Affairs, Chitkara University organized various educational activities to celebrate International Mother Language Day. This day is celebrated every year on 21 February to promote multilingualism and cultural diversity commemorative to our mother tongue.

The event comprised of four events, Paint for the passion of language (drawing/painting), Feel it click it (photography competition), Calligraphy Competition and Poetry competition. The theme of the event focussed on the language without borders.

1st position was secured by Dr Arjun Kumar Singh, Chitkara Design School in Paint for the passion of language event, 2nd position was bagged by Gurinderpal Singh, Chitkara Design School followed by 3rd position bagged by Ayushi Gupta, Department of Computer Science Engineering.

Event2, Feel it click it (photography competition), the winner was Akshay Kumar, Chitkara College of Pharmacy.

Event3, Calligraphy competition, winners announced were, Amanjeet Bhalla, Chitkara School of hospitality, who secured the 1st position followed by Dr. Arjun K Singh, Chitkara Design School (2nd position) and Ayeshwarya, Chitkara University Language Centre (3rd position).

Event4, Poetry competition (only for faculty), the winners were Mr. H.P.S Lamba, Chitkara College of Sales and Marketing and Mr. Sushant Jashwara, Dept of Mechanical Engineering (1st position), Dr. Charu, Chitkara School of Health Sciences and Ms. Shivinder Kaur, Chitkara Business School (2nd position) and Sukhmeet Singh, CAS (3rd position).

On a closing note, the event was very insightful and imbibed all the participants with the wisdom of togetherness and nationalism.
