Chitkara University celebrates International Happiness Day at Chitkara University with Dr. Madan Kataria
Chitkara University radiated joy as the Chitkara Happiness Centre, in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of University Communication, celebrated International Happiness Day. The highlight was an inspiring session by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of Laughter Yoga, who shared insights into the science of laughter and its benefits in boosting immunity, enhancing confidence, and promoting mental well-being.
The celebration began with Jashan-E-Khushi at Exploretorium, where Dr. Kataria led an engaging Laughter Yoga session. He introduced students to various laughter techniques, including Bollywood laughter, and demonstrated how laughter serves as a powerful tool for mindfulness and stress relief. The session was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and an infectious spirit of joy.
Following this, Alpha Zone transformed into a Happiness Wonderland, where students explored joy through creative activities. They visually represented happiness in Draw Your Happiness and engaged in happiness interventions featuring insights from the world’s happiest countries. The Singing Zone brought students together in a musical celebration, while the Gratitude Walk encouraged reflection on life’s blessings. Peaceful Paradise offered a space for mindfulness, and a lively Nukkad Natak creatively highlighted the importance of happiness.
As evening unfolded, hostellers participated in The Highway to Happiness – Live & Laugh, a laughter yoga session blending movement and mindfulness. The day was a vibrant celebration of shared laughter and positivity, leaving participants feeling lighter, more connected, and inspired to spread happiness.
