Chitkara University celebrates Armed Forces Day

National Service Scheme, Chitkara University, Punjab celebrated Armed Forces Day on 7th December 2020 by honouring and expressing gratitude to the people of Chitkara University, Punjab who were a part of Indian Armed Forces.

The celebration was graced with the presence of Registrar, Dr. S.C Sharma, Brigadier Dr. P.S. Siwach, Pro Vice Chancellor, Administration; Col. Rakesh Sharma, Director, University Affairs, Dr. Neelam Verma, Programme Coordinator NSS and Mr. Harinder Singh, Director, University Sports Board.

Chancellor, Dr. Ashok K Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Dr. Madhu Chitkara and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Archana Mantri also contributed on this day.

Besides the celebration, NSS Department distributed Armed Forces Flags to the various departments of the University and collected funds for the welfare of Indian Armed Forces personnel wherein, the faculty and staff members from the departments celebrated this day by putting on Flag the whole day.

Since 1949, 7th December has been observed as the Armed Forces Flag Day throughout the country to honour the current and veteran military personnel of India and their families.
