Chitkara University celebrates 75th Independence Day ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with patriotic fervour
Chitkara University Punjab celebrated the 75th Independence Day of India as a part of ’Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with great zeal and patriotic patriotism on its premises. The function began with the unfurling of the national flag by our Honourable Pro-Chancellor Dr Madhu Chitkara and Vice-Chancellor Dr Archana Mantri. While our tricolour was flying high, NCC cadets, students and security guards marched proudly to paying respect to the tricolour.
Addressing the students, Dr Madhu Chitkara said, “You are the leader of tomorrow & the fate of the country is in your hands. Hence I urge you to pledge for a clean and green and corruption-free India.”
Later, the students of the Office of Student Affairs put on a spectacular cultural performance. Accompanied by a soulful musical performance, Dhvani paid tribute by singing patriotic songs, followed by Panache Club, where students posed as freedom fighters with great valour. The next performance by the theatre club was to depict an epic Saragarhi battle that left everyone in tears. The last two dance performances- Contemporary and Bhangra added life to the programme.
The National Service Scheme of Chitkara University held a tree plantation drive on this occasion. Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Dr Madhu Chitkara planted saplings along with the Deans and Directors of various departments. NSS volunteers and students also contributed to the environmental cause. More than 70 saplings were planted on this occasion.
Overall, Chitkara University celebrated the 75th Independence Day of India with great love and enthusiasm.
