Chitkara University and UCO Bank Host Seminar on Vigilance and Digital Security
Chitkara University, Punjab, in collaboration with UCO Bank, observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 3, 2024, with a thought-provoking seminar on financial security and digital vigilance. The session aimed to educate students on safeguarding their personal and financial information in an era of increasing digital fraud.
The seminar featured an insightful session led by Priyanka Sharma, Senior Manager, UCO Bank, who provided a detailed overview of financial safety, covering essential topics such as securing credit card details, recognising phishing attempts, and avoiding scam calls. The discussion went beyond theoretical concepts, offering students actionable strategies to protect themselves from cyber threats. The session encouraged active participation, making it an engaging learning experience for all attendees.
Adding depth to the discussion, Alok, Zonal Head and Deputy General Manager, UCO Bank, highlighted the ever-evolving nature of financial fraud and emphasised the importance of vigilance as an ongoing practice. Sakshi Gupta, Manager, shared real-world examples of cyber scams, illustrating the deceptive tactics used by fraudsters. Maania Gulati, Manager-Branch Head, Jhansla, and Ankush Jindal, Customer Service Associate, Jhansla, provided practical tips on recognising and responding to fraudulent activities, making the session both informative and actionable.
A key highlight of the event was an interactive quiz that tested students’ understanding of digital security concepts. The competitive yet collaborative format encouraged enthusiastic participation, reinforcing key takeaways in a memorable way. Following this, an oath-taking ceremony was held, where students pledged to uphold vigilance in their digital and personal lives. A signature campaign further solidified their collective commitment to cybersecurity awareness.
